Re-purposing of inactive oil and gas wells for geothermal resource utilization in the Sunchild First Nation.
Twenty-three of the wells drilled in Sunchild bottomed in the Banff Formation. The temperature along the structure surface increases with depth and reaches more than 83oC towards the southwestern corner of the area of investigation.
This is the 3 x 37.5 MWe geothermal power plant of Energy Development Corporation located at the highlands of Mt. Cuernos de Negros in Valencia, Negros Oriental Province, Philippines. The power plant was commissioned to the power grid in 1983. Years later, the field was fully developed to a 240 MWe installed capacity.
This is the 3 x 37.5 MWe geothermal power plant of Energy Development Corporation in Tongonan, Leyte, Philippines. The power plant commenced delivering power to the grid in 1983. Years later, the field was developed fully at 700 MWe installed capacity.
